Local Amenities
The village of Crail, a short walk from Sauchope Links Park, is the most easterly of Fife’s fishing ports. It has an impressive history and one of the finest harbours in the area.
Fresh fish and shell fish, including lobster and crab, is on sale at the harbour for you to prepare yourself, or should you wish to dine out, the local restaurants and hotels all offer seafood dishes from local produce.
Crail is also home to a well known pottery where you can visit the workshops, browse in the showroom or just relax in the flower filled yard under the fruit trees.
It is a well kept, unspoilt village with steep, narrow streets leading down to the quaint old harbour. Crail is also lucky enough to boast a small stretch of sandy beach, popular with sunbathers, swimmers and canoeists alike.
The village has good transport links and a wide and interesting selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.
To widen your holiday experience and immerse yourself in everything that this unique and beautiful area has to offer, Crail is only a short drive from the most ancient and interesting buildings in Fife and all the main sporting facilities. |
